Just the right thing we need to hear as we prepare ourselves to head home. We had such a good time of ministry in Romania, and many of us did not want to come home yet, and it is hard to come down from a mountain top experience. Nevertheless, we have to move on to another destination and do his works there. Practice and live out our faith at Home .... so pray for the re-entry.

After the service, Robbi and 10 other High School Students from CC Budapest hosted us around Budapest. It was a walking tour, and we especially enjoy the fellowship and the "sharpening of iron" with each other. Lotzi, Mategus, Aggy, and a few others that we may not recall their names but their faces are engraved into our memories, as well as prayers.

Thanking God that we are able to spend time with them, as they are praying for their Summer Mission Experience to either Ukraine or Romania.

Day 9: VBS at Tinca:

Dear Family & Friends
We had to leave real early in the morning to Tinca for our very last visit to that gypsy village doing VBS. Most of our team has connected with the village children more so than at Sabolcic, especially the neglected and abandoned children; Rebecca who is abused, David whose mom is a drunk and he slept underneath a car last night. Most of the gypsy children were very attentive during VBS, and some raised their hands to ask Jesus into their heart.

It was definitely our last day in Romania, our heart and our mind was so stretched because of the sights and beholding their living conditions. A few of our students are also praying to come back to help out in the Summer, so may the LORD lead them, that they may someday call the gypsies “My People” ….

We are heading out to Budapest by coach, please pray for us. We will be meeting the youth ministry in CC Budapest, so please pray for safety and a good time of encouragement and fellowship between all of us. Pray for Tom Price and Vinny from Calvary Magazine as we part ways, they are going to Klush first then down to Budapest, for their remaining time of ministry in Europe.

Day 8: CP2 – Hospital Visit/Construction at Sabolic and Pizza Party at CP2

Dear Family & Friends, we are emotionally and physically drained at the end of the day but we are rejoicing in what the LORD is establishing in the lives of our students.

Hospital Visit:
Our last day at the Hospital was an emotional one for some of us, but the boys are glad that they got one last chance to encourage and pray for Marko.

We connected with a nurse who is not a believer yet, but she has been more and more open to the gospel each day. She told us that she was surprised at how much we love the babies that are abandoned and handicapped. Join us to pray for her salvation, please.

Construction at Sabolcic (3rd Time):
Our main objective for the day is to help put dirt into the pond outside the church, so that they could make a playground for the little children at Sabolcic. It was not easy with just 12 of us, mostly girls, but we persisted and endured in the cold. We also served the community by picking up their trash (literally – mountains and valleys of trash all over) and have them transferred to the to be burnt pile. Some of them are from well-to-do families, but they still put their mind to collect trash and do so zealously in love.

CP2 – Pizza Party:
We went to CP2 for the last time, and really connected with many orphans. Some tried to be bullies, some played volleyball with our team, and some just chatted and downloaded to us their lives stories. Our team did two dramas and 2 testimonies for them before Pizza. A group of boys and girls were listening intently and taking to heart the message of the cross and deliverance. Pray that His Word will bear fruit in due time.

Day 7: Tinca Concert Outreach

Dear Family & Friends, we are sorry for the late update. We have been doing ministry late into the night, and we were not able to blog. But here is the update on Day 7:

Park Outreach:
At the Park Outreach this morning, we (Jordan, Noah, and myself) met Tolevo, a 22 year old young man waiting for his appointment to get a driver’s license so that he can get a job in the city. For some reason we talked about his family life, and that brought to our attention the hurt that Tolevo stored in his heart – Tolevo’s mom died when he was 14.

During our conversation, we talked about how God relates to his grief because his son Jesus was to die on the cross to pay our debts, so that we could have a relationship with him. He started choking and in a few minutes, asked us how he could have a relationship with God. We couldn’t believe how ready Tolevo was but God did.

CP2: Girl’s Purity Talk
Talk about being flexible, we put together a craft, bible study and question/answer session about two hours before the talk. (This event was not something put on paper earlier.) A group of 9 students were assigned to be a part of this Purity Talk. Song of Songs Chp 4, particularly about how the King built his carriage and his prep to meet his bride on the wedding day, and the character of a noble woman was what the LORD put on my heart to share. The craft at the end was to symbolically remind them of a commitment they can can make to the LORD, to keep their mind, heart and body pure. We asked the LORD together to use us, and our shortfalls to bring his son’s life deeper into the life of the orphaned teenage girls.

Concert Outreach at Tinca:
In the evening we went to Tinca city to invite Tinca-nites to come out for our evening concert. Our students met and befriended a group of young men at a shell station, and they were easing the conversations towards the gospel. Andre and Cristi were brothers and they came out to our concert with 15 of their friends. Please pray for this group of young men.

The evening concert was a blast. We have close to 250 people at the concert. A contemporary gypsy band came out to play, and our crowd started rocking to the Christian Music. We had a good time of ministry with the young people from the village and from the city of Tinca.

Day 6: (Cont.) Park Outreach and VBS at Park

Dear Friends and Family
Group D went to the Park this afternoon for the Park Outreach. Two groups of students were sent with translators to meet and talk to Romanians in a Park. It has become all our students favorite part of the day because it challenges them to put away their fear and talk to people about God. In other words, they have to trust God to inspire them to share the gospel.

A group of 3 (Michelle, Alexa and Vinny) in our team met an old man in the park, and he was very bitter against the gypsies even though he married one. Throughout their conversation they were talking to him about God.

Another Group (Jordan, Julia and Bel) was engaging two Medical students Sevi and Urrutia, from the local Med School about putting their faith in Christ. What a divine appointment. Urrutia at first was standoffish, but in the end able to admit that he needed God and love for us to pray for him. That he was surprised to meet us, who are so interested to share about our Lives and Christ with them. Sevi, was more ready to hear the gospel and had to make some choices about choosing Gift of Life instead of Death. He chose Life, and we pray that he continues to do that each day. He teared at the end when we prayed for him.

VBS at the Park: We took 8 children from CP2 to do a more personal time of ministry with them. Then we invited people from the Park to come and join us. It was a fun and stretching time because of the colder weather, but it is worth it to see 4 to 6 kids make their choice to ask Jesus into their hearts.

That's for now and I will post more about our Awesome outreach last night.

Bel

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://liquidromania.blogspot.com/2008/04/day-6-cont-park-outreach-and-vbs-at.html' title='Day 6: (Cont.) We could either pray through it and seek God's face in all that is before us or let little discouragement festered in our hearts.

The team shared about how the church family in Tinca was reaching out to help out in our community and Youth Building clean-up to get ready for Youth Outreach tomorrow. Please intercede for the outreach in that gypsy village tomorrow night. A band will be performing with our drama team, and students will be sharing testimonies as well. Please pray for the evangelistic message and translation.

Hospital Outreach: We all teared towards the end, in our quiet moment in the changing room. The miracle a few of us witnessed in the ward for deformed and sick babies is how Evelina started moving her hands and legs. She is paralysed from waist down, and not able to stretch out her fingers and arms very well, with a crooked spine. We prayed over her, asking in faith that the LORD will heal her, stretch out her arms and legs, and bring healing to every nerve endings that are not working (for lack of a better word). She started smiling, raising her hands and moved her left and right feet a few times. You know that brought smiles to Julia, Michelle and my faces throughout the day. For Levente, a baby who has water in his brain, he started smiling as we pray for him, and love on him. Also, we are praying that a doctor in the States will be interested to perform a surgery on him so that he will be able to walk and run because his head is too heavy to sit up straight even. Please also pray for Marko, a 12 year old boy who has cancer in his liver, and may be passing on soon.

I have to run, but will update you with news on Park Outreach and CP2 club tomorrow. Divine appointments are filling our calendar, and it is so good to see God show himself strong on our behalf.

Blessings, Bel

Day 5 : Outreach at Hospitals, Street Kids, CP2 and Sabolciu

Dear Family and Friends
Today is what I call a SUPER MINISTRY day.... the LORD opened 4 doors of opportunities for us, and our smaller ministry teams are mainly went into three directions.

Hospital Ministry: I have heard so much from the students about their time in the hospital ministries today. Some scenes, smells, voices and faces are going to be edged into their hearts and minds forever... yet it also can become heartbreaking in their time of ministry there. The team was divided into: 1) the Abandoned Babies ward: carrying them, feeding them, changing them and simply lovin them with our smiles, touches and prayers 2) Critical Care Ward - babies that are handicapped or suffering from major illnesses and 3) Young Children - sick, neglected and orphaned. Many are gyspy children, being abandoned or abused. Please pray for these babies and children, some may never get to be adopted, fostered or live to celebrate their next birthday, or get up from their sick bed, or get married, or live to see their grandchildren. We want them to see Jesus in our ministry, and somehow receive the comfort of His touch through believers like us on short term mission work. We do however pray for healing, for children to be fostered and adopted. That the LORD will provide caring homes for these children.

Park Outreach: The same teams that went out to the hospitals ended up at the Park Outreach, reaching out to gypsies, orphaned teens and those who are living on the street by choice. There were some good conversations with these folks, and overall the LORD really stretched our students beyond their comfort zone and help them to reach out to the unsaved. We also gave out joy bags at the end of our conversations.

Clothing/Shoes Depot: Another group went to sort supplies and resources at PTJM's office. They prayed over each item they picked for each foster or gypsy family who will be recieving the supplies. That they be blessed and loved.

Sabolciu - VBS Ministry & Construction: My team was in Sabolciu today with Stacie's team. It is unbelievable. The LORD gave me a glimpse of how we are breaking fallow ground in that village as hedge hammers, and work tools were applied on the ground we are working on, to build a kindergarten for gypsy children. We need to keep working on it, till the ground is workable and suitable for His use. And the future generations of gypsy children's lives will be changed because of that investment.

VBS Ministry was awesome by the power of the Holy Spirit, and thank you all for praying for our ministry here.

God Bless, christabel

Day 4: Sunday Service at CC Tinca (gypsy church) and Visit with Foster Families

Dear Family & Friends
Today, many of us were excited to see our brothers and sisters at CC Tinca, a gypsy village church an hour away from Oradea. As we were driving up to the church, situtated amongst many village homes, Pastor Cornell stopped to share with us his vision of the Youth Church they are working on. We prayed for the future generations of gypsy believers that will come to the saving knowledge of Christ through the ministry that will happen through this building.

We were greeted by believers at the door, and loved on by the children at the church. Pastor Mike, Topher, & Pastor Cornell did a wonderful 3-part teaching that was beautifully woven together by the Holy Spirit. I was especially touched by the mournful spirit amongst our gypsy families. Looking on, their tears, heartfelt mourning, groanings was a result of responding to the Holy Spirit through the drama, testimonies, and teaching. The Repairer of the Bridge is definitely working in all of us this morning.

In the afternoon, we were divided into 9 groups, visiting 8 foster families that have adopted children from the hospitals, orphanges and neglected homes in Oradea. Many of adopted children are gypsy children. One group went to Sabolcic to minister to the church there soon after.

Many of us have the same story to share at the end of our visits. These children have found the gift of life through their foster homes. Some of them are legally adopted, and blossomed in the nurturing hands of Christian Families. Some of the younger toddlers are still fighting the trauma they lived at the hospital or orphanages. The older teens who are adopted for more than 10 years, are now able to share their faith with other orphans, and children at the hospital, loving and serving God with all that they are endowed with because of Christ. Can't wait to see how these redeemed young men and women of gypsy lineage will affect Romania for Christ in the next 10 to 20 years.

Pray with us and for us, that we will surrender to the mighty hands of God and his direction everyday.

Pray for our construction project, hospital visits, park outreaches and VBS throughout the coming week. We need the same breath of Life that created us to breathe upon all the works of our hands. Now may Jesus be glorified in all that we think or do.

Love & Blessings, christabel

Day 3: The rest of our Team arrived in Budapest

Hi Friends and Family,
Our JFK team has arrived in Budapest this morning at 7.05am. We missed our team very much, it's like a piece of the puzzle that is missing.

We cannot wait to begin ministry here, so please be praying for us to have God's eyes, ears and heart for the Romanians and Gypsies that we have and will meet and speak to, throughout the next 9 days.

You are fellow laborers in the LORD here, so keep us in your prayers. However, without our luggages. Can you imagine how trying it can be to still keep our mind focused on the LORD and not to be distracted from the goal of preaching Christ.

Alex Gray met us at the airport, and we drove past the country of Budapest, to Oradea in 3.5 hours. It was a sweet time of fellowship, the students (Sara, Trisha, David and Blair) were sharing their testimony. The LORD was speaking to my heart - it was what the team needed to hear.

Know that the LORD your God, He is God, the faithful God, who keeps His covenant and His lovingkindess to a thousand generation with those who love Him and keep his commandment (Deu 7:9)... everything that we have experienced so far even in the rerouting of flights, isn't God demonstrating to us his faithfulness? And most of all the lesson, a lesson I have to learn over and over again, "He is God". He is not moven or shaken, but we could become undone very quickly.

Just spoke with Pastor Mike, 19 of them were about to leave for Budapest, and everyone is still hanging in there. Praise the LORD.

For the rest of the evening in Romania, we ride the trams and went down to see the walking street in downtown Oradea. Alot of things to pray for.

Fill you in on our next entry.

Love & Blessings, christabel

DAY 1: OUR FLIGHT GOT CANCELLED

Hi Friends & Family
Our team is now officially rerouted. After being on the phone for literally hours, we got our flight rerouted to leave today and tomorrow. I was just sharing with one of our adult leaders, it felt like peace before the storm this morning .. and sure enough the storm hit.... but we were not washed away by doubts, disillusionment, discouragement, anger, etc... rather a sureness that our Father is faithful and sure to provide.

I am so thankful that a group of 5 is on our way to Budapest via Miami and Milan. The rest of our group will regroup tomorrow at 4.30am and head out to FFL to catch the 7.20am, 7.45am and 12.24pm flight. Please pray for us. This is the beginning of right of entry into the Spiritual Warfare Zone for souls in Romania and Budapest.

The bummer is that we cannot be in Vajta for their outreach on Friday, and they have the village excited that we are coming. Nonetheless, it is a good stirring that the LORD himself wants to present his son to them... with or without us.

Keep coming to the Father's throne on our behalf, and for the work He has set aside for us to do, for the people he has set apart for us to touch and minister to, for the souls that He himself wants to heal.

LOVE & GOD BLESS, christabel

Meeting at The HUB at 7.55am 3/27

Dear Parents and Team Romania
Are you full of anticipation and excitement for Romania. Drama training and missions training classes on Saturdays, have been eventful and most needed for team building and equipping. If you guys were present at our Romania Missions Dinner on Mar 7, the drama team gave their best performance so far, moving the audience to tears with "EVERYTHING."

For Team Members:
From now to the end of the trip, we will need you to focus, getting yourself ready for mission work. Eating healthy, taking the necessary vitamins, exercise (walk or jog 20-30 mins a day), and check with your doctor if your immunizations are updated. You will need to bring work gloves for construction projects, and warm clothing (layers please). Look through the recommended packing list in your training manual for items needed, but you should have purchase the travel insurance on www.medexassist.com, turn in your passport, the travel consent form (need to be notarized), medical form (to give us info on your health), and liability release form. They are all in your 1st Meeting Package. (Your parents can come to the church reception for notarized signature).

For Parents:
We are having two Sessions of Mandatory Vacation Bible School I(VBS) training, which includes a whole new dynamics of reaching kids with the gospel. The dates are 3/15 and 3/22 at 3 to 5pm.

Our last mission training class is on 3/22 at 1 to 3pm. Please note that change. All last minute packing info will be given out here.

Thanks.

ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT LIQUID ROMANIA 08

Liquid Romania Mission Trip
Mar 27 to Apr 7, 08
Ministry to the Orphans & Street Children
Collaborating with Pathway to Joy Ministries

Proposed Itinerary:
We are proposing the following agenda for our mission trip, but please remain flexible and ready for changes:
Outreach to Gypsy Villages
Babies/children at Hospitals
Orphanages/Central Placement 2 (Mentoring Program)
Construction Project
Introduction to Vision for Life @ Calvary Chapel Bible College, Vaijta
Free Day in Budapest

Cost of Trip:
$1700- This includes cost of an air ticket, local & overseas transportation, lodging, and all meals.
